DRESS CODE POLICYK-12
Browning/SLA expects students to be dressed and groomed in such a way as to not disrupt or distract from instructional procedures or classroom decorum. Appropriateness to the occasion, the activity, and the time should always be the guide.
Students should choose their clothing based on the principles of cleanliness, neatness, modesty, and appropriateness.
Due to a wide range of values and beliefs associated with modesty, neatness and appropriateness, the following dress code is to be followed during all school days and when participating in any school activity, unless otherwise stated:
ALL STUDENTS K-12:
SHIRTS:
Style: All shirts must be a traditional style polo shirt with a school logo imprinted on them purchased from *authorized vendors. Shirts may be short-sleeved or long- sleeved without any adjustments or alterations made to the original style/cut.
Fit: Shirts must be properly fit or loose fitting.
PANTS/SHORTS/SKIRTS/SKORTS:
Material: No spandex, sweatshirt material, fleece material, or exercise pants of any type.
Fit:
1. Must be properly sized. Not baggy or skin tight. There must never be any underwear showing.
2. Short, skort, and skirt length need to be no more than 3" above the back of the knee.
SWEATERS/OUTERWEAR: (No Sweatshirts allowed)
All sweaters/outerwear worn in school must be
imprinted with the Browning/SLA school logo and
purchased from *authorized vendors. Various
options of sweaters and fleeces are available
through the authorized vendors.
Fit:
1. Must extend 5" over the top of the pants
2. Must be worn with a dress code appropriate shirt underneath
3. Must not be tight or form fitting
4. Must not be oversized or sloppy
5. Must be modest
FOOTWEAR:
Must be worn at all times.
HEADWEAR:
Of any type (hats, bandanas, hoods, scarves, etc.) is permitted outside the school building only and is not permitted in the building at any time.
All clothing must be neat, clean, and in good repair. Tight-fitting, low-cut pants or shirts, and oversized clothing are not acceptable. No stretchy, spandex, or tight fitting materials.
All K – 6 STUDENTS
FIELD TRIP/SPECIAL ASSEMBLY DRESS:
A purple polo shirt with khaki pants, shorts, skirts, or skorts must be worn for field trips.
