Records & Transcripts


Transfer of Records
All students requesting a transfer of records must have a payment plan for any remaining financial balance prior tothe release of records. Students may not receive their graduation diplomas until the school account is paid in full.

Retention of Records
In accordance with the Atlantic Union Education code and appropriate federal and MA laws, South Lancaster Academy establishes the following schedule for student records disposal.

Elementary Records
All elementary records are maintained in accordance with Southern New England Conference Office of Education policy. Students that depart the elementary school will have their records sent to Southern New England Conference in accordance with Southern New England Conference Policy.

Academy Records
The following disposal schedule has been developed for temporary student records:

• 30 days after the end of their 12th grade year
         o Disposal of all information other than specified records, which are maintained for five years.
                (This does not include ongoing financial information relating to account payment.)

• 5 years from the date of departure from academy
        o School Applications
        o Legal documents
        o Attendance records

Prior to disposal each authorized individual will be notified in writing at their last known address of the disposal date. Prior to disposal date authorized individuals only (as per Atlantic Union Education code and MA 603CMR) may request in writing to receive the student’s temporary record.

Permanent Student Transcript

Academy student transcripts are maintained for sixty years after departure from the Academy.
