Financial InformationConstituent Rate EligibilityFour churches provide a subsidy for the operation of SLA/Browning. These churches are: College, Leominster, South Lancaster Village, and Sterling. The members of these four churches form the South Lancaster Academy and Browning Elementary constituency. The subsidy these churches pay to the school allows their church members to be eligible for the constituent rate. Verification of constituent member rate eligibility may be requested in writing from the local church. Tuition Payments Each student has a school account with a payment plan. The standard plan is developed for nine monthly payments. Parents will receive a coupon book, which outlines the monthly payment plan. The first payment and any registration fees are due in July. Payments may be made using cash, check, debit card, or one of the following major credit cards: MasterCard, VISA, American Express or Discover. Families may arrange for payment transfers from personal bank accounts. Advance Payment A discount is allowed for a student who pays a full year’s tuition and registration fees by July. Some arrangements may be made for semester payments. Family Discount A family discount will be allowed when three or more students from the same immediate family are attending SLA and Browning , Grades K-12. Application Fee An application fee will be charged upon registering. Late Registration Full tuition will be charged for a student who registers late, is absent during the school year, or needs to make up work missed prior to registration. Delinquent Accounts Past due accounts are subject to finance charge. GreenFlag Profit Recovery by Transworld Systems assists the school in collecting accounts. Both current student accounts and any accounts remaining when students transfer out of our school system may be assigned to the collection agent for follow-up. This collection agency will assist with accounts that fall behind in payments. Student accounts with regular monthly payments (excluding church or scholarship awards) will not be transferred to the collection agent. The school, administration, and committees continue to be willing to work with families to develop appropriate payment plans, however, failure to meet the payment plan obligation will be cause for contact by Transworld Systems. Books Textbooks and workbooks for K-8 are covered in the tuition fees. Students in grades 9-12 are required to purchase textbooks and workbooks. School textbooks and workbooks may be purchased at MBSDirect.net. Grades 7-12 Locker Deposit A locker deposit of $10 is due at registration. This fee is refundable at the end of the school year after inspection confirming that the locker is clean and in good condition. Students will be charged a $5 lock fee for each lock. Grades 1-12 Lab Fees Some classes may require a lab fee (i.e. music, computers, and art) Grade 12 Graduation Fees Twelfth graders are required to pay a $30 fee toward graduation expenses. This fee is due in April of the graduation year. Exam Permits Grades 9-12 An examination permit must be secured from the business office before semester examinations can be taken. Permits will be granted only when accounts have been settled, and other obligations properly fulfilled. No student will be allowed to take final tests without payment in full unless special clearance has been given by the executive finance committee. There is a $5 fee for the replacement of an examination permit. Tuition & Fees Click here for a cost breakdown worksheet (.PDF) |
